Prof. Dr. Fuat İnce is a graduate of Kadıköy Anatolian High School and Boğaziçi University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois in the United States, where he studied on a Fulbright scholarship. He served as an expert, senior expert, and deputy director at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM). While serving as the Founding Director of the TÜBİTAK Informatics Institute, he led the provision of internet services in the vicinity of Istanbul for the first time (in 1993) and took part in the establishment of the TÜBİTAK National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology.
As an academician, he went to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, where he established the remote sensing program and received awards for his projects. After returning to Türkiye, he worked in the defense sector and at foundation universities, and later retired while serving as the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at Marmara University.
He taught courses on space technologies, space policies, and space security at the Air Force Academy and the Military Academies. Representing Türkiye, he served on the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and participated in various NATO project and working groups. He received the “Most Successful Project” award from TÜBİTAK MAM and service awards from NATO. Professor İnce has published various articles and books in the fields of computer engineering and space technologies.
